A Colorado native, Miriam earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Minnesota Law School in May of 2025, where she graduated on the "A" Dean's List and received numerous academic distinctions, including the full-ride Dean Distinguished Scholarship and a nomination for Best Oralist in the Civil Rights and Liberties Moot Court. She served as Student Director of both the Civil Rights and Liberties Moot Court and the Rural Immigrant Access Clinic, where she assisted in advising clients, drafting asylum and work-permit applications, and researching humanitarian protection issues.

Her broader professional background includes positions with the Minnesota Attorney General's Office, the Riverside County District Attorney's Office, and the Federal Defenders of the Middle District of Alabama. Through these roles, she developed skills in legal research, motion practice, courtroom advocacy, and federal criminal defense-working on matters ranging from state-level prosecutions to complex federal and death row cases. Her judicial externship with the Honorable Michael J. Davis in the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota further deepened her understanding of federal procedure and judicial decision-making.

Before law school, Miriam graduated magna cum laude from Benedictine College with dual Bachelor's degrees in Political Science and History. She was a Presidential Scholar, Discovery Day Scholar, and an active member of the Honors Program, Pi Sigma Alpha, Catholic Relief Services, and Sigma Tau Delta.
